Our Ingredients

Butters, Vegetable Oils, Essential Oils, Waxes, and Botanicals have been used for centuries for various health and beauty products of the time. In fact you will still find them being used in a variety of ways today. Here's a list of our ingredients and a brief description of the reported benefits.

 
Butters (top)

Cocoa Butter: Wonderful for hydrating the skin and gives soap a wonderful creamy texture.

Shea Butter: Used for moisturizing the skin and lips. Has a rich creamy texture that surpasses the emollience of cocoa butter.

Jojoba Butter: Butter form of jojoba oil.

 
Vegetable Oils (top)

Olive Oil: The corner stone of Castile soaps. It's full of vitamins and minerals that condition hair and is soothing to the skin.

Castor Oil: Rich in fatty acids which makes a great moisturizer for the skin. Helps retains moisture in skin and hair.

Coconut Oil : Readily absorbed by the skin and gives soap creamy texture and rich lather. Good for controlling oily skin.

Evening Primrose Oil: Aids in skin restoration and healing scars. It helps calm eczema, psoriasis and allergic skin problems.

Grape Seed Oil: High in Vitamin E and Omega 6. Used in lotions, balms, deodorants and soaps. Won't aggravate acne.

Hazelnut Oil: Natural astringent quality makes this oil perfect for oily skin.

Jojoba Oil: Similiar to the composition of the skin's natural oils. Readily absorbed by the skin for moisturizing. Excellent hair conditioner.

Palm Oil: Forms rich, stable lather and helps create a long lasting bar. Also gives body to liquid soaps.

Sweet Almond Oil: Is a perfect carrier oil for botanicals, herbs and essential oils. Good for relieving itching, dryness and inflamed skin.

Vitamin E: (T-50) is an all natural low d-alpha tocopherols, which is nature's antioxidents.


Essential Oils (top)

Balsam Peru: Used for soothing dry and chafed skin. Has a rich earthy aroma.    

Cedarwood: Anti-septic and is good for controlling acne. Also stimulating for the scalp making a good hair rinse.  
Canine:
Great for canine rashes, coat and skin deodorizer and insect repellant.

Chamomile (German): Antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral and anti-inflammatory. Good for burns, sunburns and eczema.
Canine:
Helps with canine burns, cuts, sores, insect bites and sensitive skin conditions.

Cinnamon Bark:  Skin stimulant which makes shaving easier. Do not use this oil on skin during pregnancy.

Citronella: Good for controlling and preventing acne and wrinkles.
Good for insect repellant.

Eucalyptus: Useful as anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antiviral, antibiotic and deodorizing.  Good for sunburns and natural insect repellent.  Do not use this oil on skin if epileptic or if you have high blood pressure.
Canine: Helps to heal cuts and inflammation, relieves pain, also makes a good insect repellant.

Frankincense: Great for helping with aged/mature skin. Helps balance oils in skin.

Geranium & Rose Geranium:  Great for glowing, healthy skin.  A good antiseptic and astringent.
Canine: Gives the coat a great scent and is an excellent insect repellent.

Lavender: Natural antibiotic, antiseptic and detoxifier. Helpful in fading scars and the healing process.
Canine: Helps with allergies along with cuts, insect bites, and itching problems.

Lemongrass: Refreshing citrus scent that is an antiseptic and astringent. Cleansing and stimulating for the body. Natural insect repellent.

Patchouli: Used for allergies, headache and wrinkle fighting abilities..
Canine: Helps heal cuts, eczema and repels insects.

Peppermint:  Used by ancient Egyptian, Chinese and American Indian cultures for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.  Do not use this oil on skin of children under the age of seven years old or use during pregnancy. 

Petitgrain: Has anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antibacterial properties. Citrus scent.

Rose Hip Oil:  Is known for its anti-wrinkling ability and helpful in fading scars, especially acne scars. It soothes and helps calm the skin.

Rose Otto Oil: Rich floral scent great for fading scar tissue, calming skin irritations and toning the skin.  

Rosemary: Stimulating aroma is good for the morning bath or shower.  Excellent in soothing tired and stressed muscles. Also good for acne and facial creams.

Rosewood: Light floral scent is relaxing and calming to the body and senses.  

Sandalwood: Oil is used to help with acne and overly sensitive skin.

Spearmint:  Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-septic.  Aroma has been used to help soothe upset stomachs and migraines.

Sweet Orange: Antiseptic and soothing for the body. Good for dry and maturing skin.

Tea Tree:  Anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-septic.  Helps heal insect bites, rashes and toenail infections.
Canine: Used to help heal wounds and cuts.

Ylang Ylang: Used for Anti-septic and oily skin. Also used in shampoo for cleansing ability of the scalp and hair.  

 

 
Waxes (top)

Bees Wax: Natural by product from local bees. Has a wonderful scent of honey. Used in soaps, creams, balms and candles.

Jasmine Sambac Flora Wax: Made from the Jasmine Sambac petals.

Rose Apothecary Flora Wax: Made from the Russian Rose petals.

Tuberose Flora Wax: Made from the Tuberose petals.

 

 
Botanicals (top)

Aloe Vera Pulp : Helps to heal and moisturize dry skin. In shampoos it can help with dry and itchy scalp.

Calendula & Chamomile Dried flower heads and petals: Used for baby soap and extremely sensitive skin. Mild and calming for the skin.

Spearmint Leaves: Great for refreshing bath and helpful with sore and aching muscles.

Ground Pumice: Natural hollow volcanic rock used for exfoliating scrubs and bars. Ground fine and extra fine.

Cracked Oats: Organic. Soothing for inflamed skin and rashes.

Rose Petals: Organic. Antique Bourbon varieties. Gentle and soothing cleanser for skin. Has anti-wrinkling properties.

Coffee: Ground coffee beans. Used for deodorizing and removing strong odors like garlic, onions and fish.
